It's football season and who doesn't love the food that goes with that? We love Philly Cheese steaks and french fries that go with it. But boy, not very healthy. We found this great post on low carb french fries. We decided to make our make our sandwich without the meat, so we didn't include the meat, you are welcome to add the it if you desire. We are trying to cut out red meat to keep it low fat.
Rutabaga
Peeling
Slicing them like fries
All cut up with the ingredients to coat them
Olive oil, paprika and pepper (we omitted the salt)
Ensuring they are all coated
Ready for the oven
Cutting up the vegetables for the Philly Cheese "steak"
Sauteing the onions, peppers and baby bella mushrooms
Whole wheat french roll divided in two with a bit of mayo, the "steak" and low fat smoked provolone. Then added to the oven for a few minutes to let the cheese melt.
All cooked
Philly Cheese "Steak" and "French Fries"
Enjoy the Philly Cheese "Steak" with the "fries" we suggest you add your favorite dipping sauce for the fries. You cannot tell they aren't potato with the dipping sauce, they sort of taste like cabbage. We had to cook our fries for about 45 minutes for them to be crispy.
